This is a uniformed position which is tasked with maintaining a vigilant presence, enforcing store policies, responding to incidents, and promoting a Clean, Safe store atmosphere.
The Lowe's Security Specialist (LSS) will work closely with asset protection associates, store leadership, and law enforcement to investigate and address issues that could compromise the physical security and safety of the location.
This position will be a first responder on critical incidents and provide security support to the store teams as needed.
This role will also provide key training on physical security topics to store associates and utilize internal case management system to capture all pertinent incidents.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
oProvide a visible and proactive security presence throughout the location to deter loitering, vandalism, and other security concerns.
oPerform regular audits on physical security and product protection to ensure proper execution using hand-held mobile device.
oConduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior store premises to identify potential security concerns both on foot and by using a company-owned vehicle.
oDe-escalate situations involving both customers and associates using professional techniques.
oRespond promptly and appropriately to incidents, accidents, and emergencies, such as medical situations or fire alarms.
oCollaborate with store leadership and associates to enforce policies and procedures.
oEscort associates or customers to their vehicles upon request.
oReport any suspicious behavior, safety hazards, or security breaches to the appropriate authorities or management.
oUtilize case management system to complete detailed incident reports, including accurate descriptions of events, individuals involved, and actions taken.
oUtilize video management system to detect and prevent unauthorized activities and complete post-incident investigations.
oReview weekly physical security related reports and respond appropriately.
On occasion, conduct external theft apprehensions which are in accordance with company policies and procedures, and according to local, state and federal laws.
oConducts interviews in accordance with local laws and company policy on customers and vendors suspected of theft, reports suspected fraud to AP Management and Investigations team as needed.
oAttend monthly Safety Team meetings to stay informed about updates, concerns, and procedural changes.
oProvides SMART customer service at all times through the daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs.
oHelps ensure associates have the tools and resources needed to provide exceptional SMART customer service.
oPrepares, completes, and maintains all case reports related to associate recoveries, Asset Protection apprehensions and Known Theft cases.
Records and completes prescribed tasks in Case Management System oParticipates in court hearings, if applicable.
Updates case files and maintains relationships with local Law Enforcement oValidates physical security of the building, per company policy/procedure, throughout the day (Gates, Keys etc).
Minimum Requirements:
oHigh School or GED o1 year retail, security, first-responder, or military experience (or related field) oState-issued driver's license oState-issued Security Guard License Preferences:
oBachelor's Degree - Criminal Justice, Safety, or related security field o2 years' big-box retail, security, or military experience o2 years' experience with detailed incident report-writing o2 years' experience with detailed incident report-writing o2 years' experience in using physical security systems (CCTV, EAS, etc.
